Comment 1 Manfred Stienstra 2003-06-30 02:24:32 UTC
I think the problem lies in the configure test:

if test -f actest.cpp && grep klineedit actest.cpp > /dev/null; then
    kde_cv_uic_plugins=yes
fi

They're grepping 'klineedit' from actest.cpp. But the source of uic declares this as: KLineEdit

<!DOCTYPE UI><UI version="3.0" stdsetdef="1">
<class>NewConnectionDialog</class>
<widget class="QDialog">
   <widget class="KLineEdit">
        <property name="name">
           <cstring>testInput</cstring>
        </property>
   </widget>
</widget>
</UI>

I think this should be changed to:

if test -f actest.cpp && grep KLineEdit actest.cpp > /dev/null; then
    kde_cv_uic_plugins=yes
fi

I've included a new acinclude.m4 which works for me...

Please see: http://developer.kde.org/documentation/other/developer-faq.html#q72
and: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56747

If you think your fix is a good solution to this problem, I encourage you to subimt it to the
kde folks for inclusion back into the main kde site. This seems to be a problem for a lot of
people (I'm the one who wrote the FAQ entry because I have encountered this a lot).
Comment 4 Manfred Stienstra 2003-06-30 06:57:51 UTC
I've added an entry to bugs.kde.org.
Comment 5 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-20 07:12:49 UTC
Since this is a kde issue, and a rather common one at that, I'm going to leave this up to kde
main devs to figure out how they want to resolve this.
Comment 6 Blu3 2004-01-05 10:10:02 UTC
Can we do -something- about this? :)

I realize this is a kde issue at the start, but honestly, it's us, the end users that are waiting for it to work.
Comment 7 Jesse Zbikowski 2006-02-10 13:00:33 UTC
(In reply to comment #1)
> if test -f actest.cpp && grep KLineEdit actest.cpp > /dev/null; then

I tried this and it got me past ./configure, but during actual build it fails:

koDocumentInfoAboutWidget.cc:39: error: invalid use of undefined type 'struct KLineEdit'

Has this issue been resolved?
