Thanks for wanting to help Gentoo with a mirror. Yes, please sync with ftp.ussg.iu.edu as the doc at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/source_mirrors.xml suggests. I've added your mirror to our test system and will keep you posted about its progress. Also, I'd like to have some details about the mirror like Hardware specs, network specs and how many concurrent users you plan to support. Please do let us know by what name you'd like to be listed on our site as well.
Hi, I have changed the mirror source. The name for the listing would be; Turkish Linux Users Group - Linux Kullanicilari Dernegi(LKD) I will learn the hardware/network specs from the administrators (I only manage the mirrors on the server), and post it here.
Hi, The machine runs freebsd on an AMD Opteron, with 8 GB RAM. The connected network is at the center of Turkish national academic network, and 1 Gb connection is available. FTP gets 200 Mb bandwidth, HTTP starts at 50Mb but may use up to 1Gb. Concurrent connections are unlimited for now, but 750 connections would be tought as a limit. When can we be listed :)
