Description Andreas Weber 2008-09-10 00:24:02 UTC
During my emerge world portage failed to update x11-libx/pixman to 0.11.8 with the following error message:

>>> Emerging (58 of 230) x11-libs/pixman-0.11.8

 * If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant.

 * The ebuild environment file is located at '/var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/pixman-0.11.8/temp/die.env'.
 *

I have the following gcc versions installed: 3.3.6-r1, 4.1.2, 4.2.4 and 4.3.1.

I think it may be a bug in the ebuild:

    if use sse2 && ! $(version_is_at_least "4.2" "$(gcc-version)"); then
        eerror "SSE2 instructions require GCC 4.2 or higher. Either use"
        eerror "GCC 4.2 or higher or USE='-sse2'"
        die "SSE2 instructions require GCC 4.2 or higher"
    fi

I'm not sure, but it looks at if there is a closing bracket missing.

Reproducible: Always

Oops, i just noticed that i really use a gcc version <4.2, i'll try to update gcc and reopen the bug if it didn't fix it.
