Scarlet-Internet Services N.V., The Netherlands, were both Gentoo users and a mirror provider. Now their possibly internal DNS still points to their mirror site. This site DOES NOT contain Gentoo. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.rsync rsync.nl.gentoo.org:: 2.Examine the list or attempt emerge --sync, etc., etc. 3. Actual Results: dt1 sh # rsync rsync.nl.gentoo.org:: freebsd FreeBSD mirror test Speedtest files ubuntu Ubuntu archive mirror ubuntu-image Ubuntu images mirror debian Debian Mirror debian-images Debian images Mirror debian-nonus Debian non-US Mirror debian-ipv6 Debian ipv6 Mirror linux-kernel Linux kernel linux-software Linux software CPAN CPAN mirror postgresql PostgreSQL Mirror mysql MySQL Mirror apache Apache Mirror openssl Openssl Mirror This was done as a Scarlet client - non-routed ADSL conection. NB: This could be different for an external user as they may see a different DNS Server. This needs to be checked first, and if so,I will have to be a "disatisfied client" otherwise the hopefully mighty Gentoo can shout. Also I take a Full Internal mirror for multiple use - 3 rsyncs: snapshot, distfiles, "everything". It takes an awfull long time before snapshot turns up just doing a straight rsync. I was also doing a bit of testing with the agorithm the day I noticed this - probably annoyed Tiscali for which abject appologies - otherwise should not have anything to do with whatever.

Marcel, Can you please look into this. I don't see a gentoo-portage in the list of rsync modules.
(In reply to comment #1) > I'll ping the admin I still experience this problem and it is obvious from the above that this is just as much an external as well as an internal (client) problem for all users in The Netherlands. rsync7. ... ceased to exist when Scarlet stopped being a Gentoo shop. Obviously they either never removed the DNS entry or it has crept back in again. Either way can we not get it out. It is WRONG! Do you want me to "shout" at them or will you do it on your own?

No response, removing from rotation. Thanks for helping Gentoo with a mirror.
