Description Roberto Bertolusso 2008-09-04 17:41:11 UTC
When syncronizing amarok with mtp device,
media-libs/libmtp-0.3.1 fails to do it
media-libs/libmtp-0.3.0 works ok.

Running amarok from a console, when syncronizing, at certain point slows down dramatically and quits sending files to the device.
From the console, the following messages appear:
PTP: Opening session
PTP: Sequence number mismatch 247 vs expected 248.
PTP: Sequence number mismatch 248 vs expected 249.
PTP: Sequence number mismatch 249 vs expected 250.
PTP: Sequence number mismatch 250 vs expected 251.
PTP: Sequence number mismatch 251 vs expected 252.
PTP: Sequence number mismatch 252 vs expected 253.
PTP: Sequence number mismatch 253 vs expected 254.
....

I first downgraded amarok to previous version, and no change on behaviour.
Then downgraded mptlib to 0.3.0 and it's working flawlessly.

Probably version 0.3.1 should be blocked and developers notified.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. From amarok, connect to the device
2. Select from the collection say 100 files to transfer. Click transfer
3. After a while amarok stops sending the files and gets very slow.

We forgot about this one, it seems. Anyway...
Please report this upstream and add the URL to the upstream bug to the URL field of this bug. You'll probably be asked to provide device information, etc. If they already have a patch, we'll import it and close this bug.

Comment 4 Peter Alfredsen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-09-25 12:00:36 UTC
Resolving bug, hoping it's fixed with libmtp-0.3.2 which brought a slew of improvements for creative devices. Though we don't know if that's what you have cause you never told us :-)
Comment 5 Roberto Bertolusso 2008-09-25 12:31:55 UTC
Yes! It is a Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB. Sorry for not mentioning it!
