Would it be possible to combine the hardened patches and the tuxonice patches for those users who need both?
I think it unlikely that this will become an officially supported patchset, but let's see if anyone working with either tree is interested...
Thanks. I realize that it is unlikely that multiple permutations of kernel sources will ever exist, but why not enable patches as USE flags instead of different packages?
Because patch sets that are developed independently tend to develop conflicts that get resolved by experts if/when the features get pushed to mainline, so just stacking patches together in an automated would will have many pitfalls Just ask Andrew Morton how easy it is to make random patch sets play nice together ;)
I'm sorry. hardened wont be able to support this directly. You are free to use overlays and share your work with the world. But please use a name other than hardened on any given tarballs or anything that is put into the tree as to not cause an indirect burden on our already understaffed team.
It will be quite hard to keep base kernel, TOI and hardened in sync. I've tested 2.6.27 + genpatches + TOI + hardened and grsec failed to apply. I'm closing this bug as WONTFIX.
