I made a quick test on x86-linux. Emerging succeeds and the application appears to be usable; at least I can log in to an FTP server, list files, log out.
what is the fix? I'm sorry for not having had the time to look into detail at this problem, yet.
Sorry, maybe I marked it as fixed too soon. I saw that 3.7.4 was in the tree, emerged it and it works fine. It's not really a fix in fact.
