I added this small patch to the ebuild and now gnome-python-extras builds with xulrunner-bin. Unfortunatelu, I don't know how to test it. I emerged some packages depending on gnome-python-extras and they work ok. It would be good to add such alternative dependency to all packages depending on xulrunner. Thanks for the patch submission, assigning to maintainers
looks like xulrunner-bin is indeed providing needed material but this isn't going to work great as it will only provide 32 bit libs for xulrunner. This might work fine on x86 but isn't exactly a good idea on 64bit arches imho. @armin76, what say you about the implications of such change in deps ?
I am against such a change, especially considering we want to make it use xulrunner-1.9 instead ASAP, and there is no xulrunner-bin-1.9
I'm against this because arch-specific deps are a bad thing. xulrunner-bin won't work for any arch except x86.
ok, I think the matter is set, it's not going to happen. Thanks for submitting the idea anyway.
