Description Volkmar Glauche 2008-08-28 11:02:01 UTC
I am using a non-standard location for my portage dir and have set the PORTDIR variable to this location. However, himerge tries to open the standard location and exits with an error. It would be nice if himerge would obey the variables set in /etc/make.conf to locate the portage tree.

Thanks for the report, assigning to maintainers

Hello Volkmar,

Yes, himerge currently doesn't obey these global portage variables, and not sure, for how long that will be the case; but this is certainly a feature himerge will have along the way.

For now, this is more of an enhancement report than a bug report, so I will close this bug and encourage you to direct any questions or suggestions directly to me.

I expect to setup a himerge mailing list soon for this kind of stuff, so stay tuned in my blog and in the himerge web site.

Thanks again and regards,
