you're talking 3958803 bytes ...

do be honest, the only time i think you should do this is if you have 'build' in your USE
flag (making a livecd) ... or you make your local USE flag do the opposite ... that is, trim
the files if it *is* in your USE flag ...

miscfiles isnt 'a package with a few dict files', its a package of 'miscellaneous files' (!)

this 'bloat' could also be said about many other packages, but we're not going around
and trimming out stuff we deem 'not of much interest' and putting a local USE flag
around it ...

Well, I disagree :) I think as most people install the miscfiles package specifically as a dependancy due to the dicts files (and neither know nor care what else is there) that they shouldn't get the rest of the cruft unless they ask for it.

Gentoo doesn't use rpms so that we can be flexible, so we can optimise what we do want, and not install what we don't.

I'm in the UK and really don't care what the US consitution looks like, and even if I did I'd look it up on the net. Nor do I care what birthstones etc are associated with each month...

killing this as I appear to be on my own in wanting rid of the us consitution et al
