The atop (sys-process/atop) utility is a fantastic replacement for top which can provide tons of system information. For the two really killer features the kernel needs two fairly small patches to the kernel though. With those patches atop can display and sort by disk activity and network activity per process. The patches are available on the atop homepage: http://www.atcomputing.nl/Tools/atop/ It would be great if these could be included in gentoo-sources! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
As per policy, we prefer not to add features that are not part of the mainline kernel, either stable or dev. [1] [1] http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd/genpatches/faq.htm
