Reproducible: Always

Can you try a build with '-j1' to see if the parallel build triggers the problem?

Wow, this is pretty weird, the file 'move-if-change' does its job in many places earlier in the build, but somehow that file has disappeared when it is called again and the build bombs out

Assigning to toolchain folks now that there is a build log, strange as it looks ;)

I encountered another problem when emerge -e system, after successfuly emerge gcc-4.3.1-r1 and glibc-2.8_p20080602.

I have try to emerge -e system 3 times, alway encounter this error...

During I emerge -e system and got to gcc-4.3.1-r1, after about 2~3 hours, I got this error:

Todd, I'm not a Gentoo dev, but I'm curious as to why you closed this as invalid. Certainly it'll be a good idea to let the devs know why that was the case, I think.
