I cannot log out of my session with the logout option in the menu. .xession-errors shows: ** (gnome-panel:8915): WARNING **: Could not ask session manager to log out: Method "Logout" with signature "i" on interface "org.gnome.SessionManager" doesn't exist gnome-panel-2.23.90 gnome-session-2.23.90 gnome-menus-2.23.6 (?) Reproducible: Always
Gnome-panel 2.23.90.1 should work, if you could try bumping locally to confirm. Thanks. NEWS : ================= Version 2.23.90.1 ================= Panel * Make logout work (updated to latest gnome-session API) (Frédéric Crozat, Vincent)
Missed the 2.23.90.1 source, since it's located above the 2.23.90 one on the GNOME website. Just changed the ebuild name and, yes, I can now log out again. Changed to FIXED. (Still can't do a restart/shutdown, I guess because I don't have policykit support compiled, but how did I do restarts/shutdowns before then?)
even with policykit support enabled (not sure if its working =/) I can't shutdown/restart. Related to masked gdm?
(In reply to comment #3) > even with policykit support enabled (not sure if its working =/) I can't > shutdown/restart. Related to masked gdm? > I created a new bug for the shutdown/restart problem: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=235507
