This patch will add support for MythTV files for MPlayer so those using MythTV can convert their files from the .nuv (only readable by Myth) format to a more standard format. This patch encorporates the use of a local 'mythtv' USE flag to enable this feature. There is also the patch I will attach written by Matthew Zimmerman (http://dijkstra.csh.rit.edu:8088/~mdz/mythtv/) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Created attachment 34024 [details, diff] Mlpayer patch (simply renamed) This was just renamed. I want to name it something more generic to keep the "mplayer-versionthis-mythtv.patch" out of the tree as much as possible. I will test it now to see if I can work with it on 1.x series mplayer.
Created attachment 34025 [details, diff] Diff for mplayer-1.0_pre2-r1 Applies on 1.0_pre2-r1 too
Ok, to save the media-video herd's poor inbox, I'm going to test on all the ebuilds, then post one tar.gz with all the appropriate diffs.
1.0_pre2-r1 seems to be as far as it's going to compile without modification. I'll try and work on it some later, but as far as the patch goes, it looks like 0.92 and 1.0_pre2-r1 is as far as it's going to go.
Created attachment 34033 [details, diff] MLayer 1.0_pre4-r4 diff file This finalizes all. I talked with a media-video herd member. The basic agreement is that it will be included in the latest version of mplayer (sort of a "new feature" if you will). That same dev (ferringb) is also working on verifying that it doesn't break core functionality. He'll decide what to do with it from there :).
This will be in pre4-r5 (w/in a week or so).
support for the mythtv/nvu file format was slipped in >1.0_pre4-r4
