Simply copying the 1.5.4-r1 ebuild almost works - the groovy-build.xml.patch just doesn't apply clean anymore. I'll attach an updated version of the patch that does the same thing and works just fine for groovy-1.5.6. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 163370 [details, diff] groovy-1.5.6-build.xml.patch
1.5.7 is out see attanchments
Created attachment 175600 [details] groovy-1.5.7.ebuild
Created attachment 175602 [details, diff] groovy-1.5.7-build.xml.patch
1.6.0 is out.
any luck on this? I've tried to make an ebuild for 1.6.2 without any luck. There is an open thread on groovy bug tracker: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GROOVY-2655
I am working on 1.6.2, the main blocker is dependencies not yet in Gentoo, some of them difficult to bump unfortunately.

two months later, any progress on this topic?
1.6.3 was commited today. There is still work to do to get it really working well, it particular wrt to bug 195955.
Closing as the major bug is fixed, and the ebuild has been available for quite some time now.
