Which version of Xorg-server you have?
I had downgrade to x11-base/xorg-server-1.3.0.0-r6 ( emerge --nodeps x11-base/xorg-server ) and now everything goes fine.
Comment 2 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-02-27 19:45:38 UTC
Hrm, you probably mixed stable and unstable xorg-server and xf86-input-keyboard. If you want an unstable server, you'll have to use unstable drivers as well.

If you can still reproduce this failure with newer versions of Xorg or the keyboard driver, don't hesitate to reopen this bug.

Thanks
