Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but in Jokey's Layman overlay, the ebuild for virtualbox-1.6.4 needs dependency <sys-devel/gcc-4.3 added. It will not compile with gcc-4.3. I was able to install gcc-4.2.4, had to execute gcc-config to set the environment, sourced the profile, then built virtualbox, then returned the system back to gcc-4.3.1, and everything runs fine.
app-emulation/virtualbox-1.6.4 is in the tree... i will forward this, hopefully he won't kill me. :-)

Hi, there are known problems with gcc-4.3.x see bug #226495, this version of gcc is not fully supported by upstream, for this reason in the virtualbox ebuild (1.6.4) was added a check in pkg_setup, upstream doesn't support it and we follow. Marking as UPSTREAM, we're not the only distribution providing hardened toolchains / gcc 4.3 so it's not our fault ;)
