Description Maciej Piechotka 2008-08-18 07:40:01 UTC
x11-libs/gtk+-2.13.6 contains a rendering bug so I'd like it masked. However I cannot downgrade it as it is the only gtk+-2.13.x.

PS.
Please keep the old ebuilds in overlay as it cost only a few KB more and saves a lot of trouble when downgrade is needed.

Reproducible: Always

no, the proper course of action is to fix this with upstream and send us resulting patches, I see no reason to keep old ebuilds in a _development_ overlay which is expected to brake and where things should be fixed rather than worked around.

Btw, if you could provide an actual description of the bug, that'd help us spot it and eventually work it out with upstream.

Well - yes. However I'd like to post a bug *and* revert having it working +/- stable. As they are expecting to break I'm not complaining they are break but I would like to have a choice of downgrade.

It is also very helpful when one need to find lastest working version. (I know it's not working in x.y.z Is it working in x.y.z-1?)

2.13.7 committed, fixing these issues.

Could you push it to server?

# layman -s gnome
* Running command "cd "/usr/portage/local/layman/gnome" && /usr/bin/git pull"...
Already up-to-date.
*
* Success:
* ------
*
* Successfully synchronized overlay "gnome".
