Attached is an .ebuild for the Chicken scheme compiler.
It is a cutting-edge native scheme compiler for a
variety of platforms, and is freely redistributable under
a liberal BSD-style licence.

This ebuild has been tested on Gentoo 1.4.3.8p1, only on x86
However, the compiler is claimed to run on PPC, Sparc and Alpha as well.

(The ebuild is indeed actually for version 1.12, not version 1.0 as I
had erroneously put in the subject line).

Mirian, I would like to use your ebuild.  I need to ask your permission to
change the header in your ebuild back to the standard gentoo one.  (you credit
will be moved to the Changelog though ;)  Let me know if this is ok as soon
as possible

added to portage (chicken-1.22) with some changes. thanks for the contribution!
