I have a core dump (rarian-sk-get-c.core) in my /var/core/1000/ and after inspecting it i can see that the core dump was a result of calling /usr/bin/rarian-sk-get-cl en_US scrollkeeper_cl.xml. is there anything we can do to reproduce this bug ?
Yes. $ rarian-sk-get-cl en_US scrollkeeper_cl.xml Segmentation fault (core dumped) And the last lines of strace open("/usr/share/librarian/rarian-sk-cl.xml", O_RDONLY) = 3 fstat(3, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=26933, ...}) = 0 mmap(NULL, 4096, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0) = 0x7f068db7c000 fstat(3, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=26933, ...}) = 0 lseek(3, 24576, SEEK_SET) = 24576 read(3, "m|Hardware|Processor\">\n <"..., 2357) = 2357 lseek(3, 0, SEEK_SET) = 0 read(3, "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UT"..., 24576) = 24576 read(3, "m|Hardware|Processor\">\n <"..., 4096) = 2357 brk(0x656000) = 0x656000 close(3) = 0 munmap(0x7f068db7c000, 4096) = 0 --- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) --- +++ killed by SIGSEGV (core dumped) +++ The scrollkeeper_cl.xml is in /usr/share/librarian/Templates/C/scrollkeeper_cl.xml but I'm attaching it

This is because USERNAME is not set in the environment. It's fixed upstream already, and will be in 0.8.1. Filipe: export USERNAME=$USER and that will fix your issue for now. @gnome: should we patch or wait for 0.8.1?
That's it. I don't remember messing with USERNAME, maybe there was some update that removed that variable. Do you remember where this variable was being set. Thank you.
My assumption is it's set by either gnome-session or gdm. At least, on my box with both of those, it's there, and on my box without them, it's not.
rarian 0.8.1 is now in tree, please reopen this bug if you can still reproduce with rarian 0.8.1
