Other qt 4.4.0 ebuilds also emerged successfully.
Thanks for reporting. This is a fairly minor issue, as most people would be using gcc-4 anyway. But we will remove it from the eclass once qt-4.3 is removed from portage.
Since qt-4.4.0 is not on tree anymore , i am closing this bug :)
