Description Reinhard Kreim 2008-08-11 10:34:27 UTC
Im having problems adding and setting options for my Aficio 2022 Printer.
Running "cupstestppd printer.ppd" fails. When I use http://www.cups.org/testppd.php it passes.

Reproducible: Always

Comment 2 Reinhard Kreim 2008-08-11 10:49:05 UTC
The printer worked with cups-1.3.7.

I also noticed that the error_log file notes:

No idea if that has anything to do with my problem.

Just had a look at the openprinting.org database:
http://www.openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Ricoh-Aficio_2022
Did you try any of the other listed drivers/ppd's like the PS one or gutenprint?
Could you test if it works with the attached ppd which at least passes cupstestppd now?

I also tested the PS file. I could add it to cups, but it does not print correctly and it is not possible to set printer options.

The .ppd file you provided works!

Thanks alot! :)

I wonder though why the the file passed the online test?
Comment 8 Timo Gurr (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-08-12 13:16:32 UTC
Under "System Management" it was missing some ":" after the *CloseUI statements, perhaps they were not needed in earlier versions and the online test utilizes an outdated one. Closing the bug since it works for you now, but I'll try to get in contact with openprinting regarding the broken ppd and CUPS regarding the online test if I find some pare time.
