Description Geoffrey Clements 2008-08-10 16:17:17 UTC
After emerging udev-124-r1 I have been having trouble with sound:
1. KDE (arts?) cannot find the sound device.
2. No kernel module is loaded for my webcam mic (snd-usb-audio)

A workaround was to put the following in local.start:
eselect rc restart alsasound > /dev/null 2>&1
modprobe snd-usb-audio

Nasty eh? However, going back to udev-119 solves these problems and I no longer need this stuff in local.start.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Does it work with newer udev-versions than 119. Maybe checking udev-125-r2 or udev-130-r1.
Comment 2 Geoffrey Clements 2008-11-06 19:40:10 UTC
Unfortunately this was the straw that broke the camel's back and I switched to Debian Testing. As it happens the current Debian package, which is 0.125-7, shows no problems.

As I seem to be the only person who has suffered this bug I'll close it.
