A flash graphic should appear below the header, however there is only an empty gap there. The flash is evidently running, however, because mouse right-click brings up the expected Flash Player menu. I have heard that there are ongoing or tricky issues with netscape-flash in Konqueror, however netscape-flash-9.0.124.0 works fine for this website in question, and the version 10 beta works fine in Firefox. damn weird! stopped working again
The site mentioned works for me. However, I don`t see any flash in it. I do have HUGE problems with youtube, and the symptoms are exactly as you describe. An empty white box in the place where the video should play. The flash plugin loads like in your case because the right-click menu appears. To play the movie successfuly I need to reload the page a few times and it suddenly works. Sadly with no way at all to fix this closed-source package we love to hate, I'm not really sure what I can do about it except recommend that konqueror users do not upgrade to flash-10 Note that this will only work until they stop providing flash-9, since Adobe's license specifically prohibits us from mirroring copies of their software. I've CCd the KDE herd who maintain konqueror; they may have insights I do not.
I'm a bit surprised to find out that this software isn't masked, given that it is a beta, Jim. Wrt. Flash: Ask Adobe - and they'll tell you they test Firefox on Linux and don't care for anything else. We're out in the dark, since this is a proprietary blob. It is not unlikely that, since there's some commercial interest behind KDE, some KDE developers will - howling and toothaching inluded, check for the new Flash version, when it is finally released. If there will be a backport from KDE 4 to 3 is yet another question. Personally I couldn't care less and refuse to support this software. If someone drops a patch it's fine. If not, it's fine, too.

Seeing it done wrong so often, let my stress that blockers like this have to be applied mutually. There's no blocking needed in this case, as this is a non-issue - there's nothing that depends on the Flash plugin and users can opt to disable Netscape plugins in Konqueror, if they want to have it installed for another browser. CANTFIX, I'd say.

Bad news. The '9' in the tree now has a growing number of severe security bugs (#239543), and so must be removed soon. If the actual version 10 release that was just added to the tree doesn't work for konqueror, you're out of luck. Sorry. Please try it and cross your fingers. Please direct complaints to either Adobe or konqueror - I'm just the packager :)

Here is a gentooized version that is now displayed by an elog output note for net-www/netsape-flash-10.0.12.36-r1 http://dev.gentoo.org/~lack/konqueror-flash.xml I would love to actually make this more automatic, but the ebuild cannot alter user settings - This will always be a manual process for every user who wants to use flash with konqueror.
