If I minimize xchat, gajim or some other app to tray, when clicking on the tray icon to activate the app, it's moved a little bit right and down. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Just to be clear - You are referring to the system tray (little icons beside the clock) and not the "iconbar" or "taskbar" which is the list of open windows across the bottom (names and icons) Can you please try minimizing the regular way (using the window button), then restoring the regular way (clicking the window's name in the iconbar), with the same apps that exhibit this odd behaviour, just to see if the same effect is observed?

Okay, then the problem technically isn't fluxbox, but I believe it can be worked around. The problem: When you "minimize to systray", the application technically closes its window, and so fluxbox destroys it and forgets about where it was last. Then when you restore it the application creates a brand new window. Fluxbox hasn't seen this one, so it places it using its normal new window placement algorithm, which will often place it just below and to the right of the last window it opened. The workaround: When the window is open, you can tell Fluxbox to remember the position so the next time the same window is created it appears in the same place. Just right-click on the window titlebar and find the setting in there. Please let me know if this works.

But it happens even if that's the only window on the screen. > The workaround: > When the window is open, you can tell Fluxbox to remember the position so the > next time the same window is created it appears in the same place. First time the window is created (from tray) it's moved also, but every next time it's on the same position (where it moved the first time).
I have exactly this issue. Didn't happen on my old x86 1024x768 laptop, but after installing Gentoo on the new 1280x800 amd64 laptop, I started to get this problem.
Now that fluxbox-1.1.0-r1 is out, please give that a try - There have been so many changes between 1.0.0 and this one that the window placement may have become more stable. Thanks!
Seems to be fixed in 1.1.0-r1.
That is great news! Marking as fixed.
