System crashes without logs or messages when trying to drag text. When using xfce4 when logout button is selected system hangs as well. Its not just the processor or x that hangs the whole system is not accessible. I am using a HP Mini 2133 laptop with a via-c7 processor. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Firefox 2.Type address in address bar 3.Try dragging text Actual Results: System hangs Expected Results: Text gets dragged and I can add bookmark

Thanks. I'll try and reproduce this (I happen to have a c3-2 (CLE266). It's probably useful to attach your xorg.conf to this bug report. By the way, did you re-emerge x11-drivers/xf86-video-openchrome after you upgraded your kernel?

Thanks for all the help. I figured out the problem, I was using EXA acceleration which was breaking. I changed it to "XAA" acceleration. So now it works fine
