Description Kyle Hutson 2008-08-03 17:41:21 UTC
media-tv/mythtv-0.21_p17722 is apparently missing i18n/dummy.c

from my build.log
--
cd i18n && /usr/qt/3/bin/qmake i18n.pro "QTDIR=/usr/qt/3" "QMAKE=/usr/qt/3/bin/qmake" "QMAKE_CC=i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc" "QMAKE_CXX=i686-pc-linux-gnu-g++" "QMAKE_LINK=i686-pc-linux-gnu-g++" "QMAKE_CFLAGS_RELEASE=" "QMAKE_CFLAGS_DEBUG=" "QMAKE_CXXFLAGS_RELEASE=" "QMAKE_CXXFLAGS_DEBUG=" "QMAKE_LFLAGS_RELEASE=-Wl,-O1" "QMAKE_LFLAGS_DEBUG=-Wl,-O1" "CONFIG -= debug" "CONFIG += no_fixpath release" "QMAKE_RPATH=" -o MakefileWARNING: Failure to find: dummy.ccd i18n && make -f Makefilemake[1]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/mythtv-0.21_p17722/work/mythtv-0.21/i18n'make[1]: *** No rule to make target `dummy.c', needed by `dummy.o'. --

Use flags:

--
mythtv i18n # emerge --pretend mythtv

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ] media-tv/mythtv-0.21_p17722 USE="aac alsa autostart dvb dvd fftw ieee1394 jack lirc mmx opengl perl python x264 xvid xvmc (-altivec) -debug -directv -lcd" VIDEO_CARDS="nvidia"
[ebuild  N    ] x11-themes/mythtv-themes-0.21_p16505

Attempting to build other versions gives similar (but not identical) errors

I can post the entire build.log if needed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge mythtv

Actual Results:
* ERROR: media-tv/mythtv-0.21_p17722 failed.
 * Call stack:
 *               ebuild.sh, line   49:  Called src_compile
 * environment, line 3379: Called die
 * The specific snippet of code:
 *       emake || die "emake failed";
 *  The die message:
 *   emake failed

Expected Results:
successful emerge

mythtv i18n # emerge --info

You svn checkout is messed up. rm -rf /usr/portage/distfiles/svn-src/myth*

That fixed it! I tried as many searches as I could think of, and this solution wasn't anything I saw.

Thanks for your help.
Comment 3 Doug Goldstein (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-08-04 18:26:07 UTC
no problem. Might also be worth recompiling any plugins you've got.
