does app-text/bibletime-1.6.5.1 really need app-text/sword-1.5.10-r2 it's making endless up/down of sword 1.5.10 and 1.5.11
(In reply to comment #0) > does app-text/bibletime-1.6.5.1 really need app-text/sword-1.5.10-r2 Apparently it does: <longdescription> BibleTime is a Bible study application for Linux. It is based on the K Desktop Environment and uses the SWORD programming library to work with Bible texts, commentaries, dictionaries and books provided by the Crosswire Bible Society. </longdescription> > it's making endless up/down of sword 1.5.10 and 1.5.11 Please post some `emerge' output. Use the --treeview option to show why sword is getting upgraded or downgraded. This usually doesn't happen unless you mix the stable and testing branches of the Portage tree (i.e. you put some package version in /etc/portage/package.keywords that depends on a specific version of sword).
it's clear why that's the up and down. bibletime asks for 1.5.10. then next upgrade that's 1.5.11. the quote you posted didn't force the 1.5.10, but just SWORD lib, 1.5.11 should work fine
1.5.11 works ok, can you remove the version deps?
ping !
Thanks for testing Patrizio, fixed in CVS
