Description Pandora 2008-08-01 15:03:57 UTC
Kind time of day!

After successful installation of system with " LiveCD 2008.0 (x86) " constantly there are 2 problems:

A. There is no standard file of prompt GRUB:/boot/grub/slpash.xpm.gz. All time it is necessary to copy it to copy manually.

B. After installation of system the alive kernel (initramfs kernel-genkernel-x86-2.6.24-gentoo-r5) cannot define and load accordingly modules for the network adapter 3Com 3c905-TX/TX-M.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
2 problems:

It is necessary to do the following:
1. It is necessary to copy manually a file "splash.xpm.gz" in "/boot/grub / ".

2. The kernel should be collected manually then 3Com 3c905-TX/TX-M it is defined by system.
And at loading LiveCD 2008.0 network adapter " 3Com 3c905-TX/TX-M " is easily defined.

Thanks for attention!

Actual Results:
As a result of done item 1 (for A) and item 2 (for B) all normally works.
But this bug is necessary for correcting in LiveCD 2008.0.

Expected Results:
Be cautious with LiveCD 2008.0 (i686)

Be cautious with version 2008.0 (i686) - it is not modified yet.

Please file one bug report per bug. It's OK to reuse this bug for one of the problems, but you'll have to adjust the Summary accordingly.

The 2008.0 release was done a long time ago.
