portage shows this error while trying to emerge kde:
segfault# emerge -p --debug kde

These are the packages that I would merge, in order.

Calculating dependancies -
!!! Problem in kde-base/kde dependancies
!!! List index out of range

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge gaming-sources
2.emerge -p kde
3.

Actual Results:  
List index out of range

Expected Results:  
install normaly kde and X system

Athlon XP 1700+, nVIDIA RIVA TNT2, Gentoo linux 1.4rc_2

the problem was strangely solved with an 'emerge -u system' , so my conclusion is the possibility of a bug in portage, because i dont need to re-sync the system
