If I run a deep update of doxygen, emerge complains about not being able to resolve the dependency "slot". Actually, =app-doc/doxygen-1.5.4 is installed, and the problem came up with the last synchronization of the portage tree. This has been my fault. Already fixed in cvs.
By setting USE="-qt3", I have installed the app-doc/doxygen-1.5.4. So now I am sure the problem is with qt3? ( $(qt_min_version 3.3) ).

Solution has been suggested into error report: qt_min_version() is deprecated. Use slot dependencies instead. =x11-libs/qt-3.3* Modifying doxygen bugged ebuild all works fine. ;-)
