The GUI for bittornado (btdownloadgui.py) is not working. I think as a result of a Python upgrade. I have Python 2.4.4-r13 and 2.5.2-r5 installed. I have tried re-emerging bittornado, python, wxpython and wxGTK as well as running python-updater but the problem persists. The error I get when running btdownloadgui.py is: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 219, in __init__ border.Add(colSizer, 1, wxEXPAND | wxALL, 4) File "usr/lib64/python2.5/site-packages/wx-2.6-gtk2-unicode/wx/_core.py", line 11766, in Add TypeError: wx.Window, wx.Sizer, wx.Size, or (w,h) expected for item Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 2376, in <module> run(argv[1:]) File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 2224, in run _run(params) File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 2227, in _run app = btWxApp(0, params) File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 2192, in __init__ wxApp.__init__(self, x) File "usr/lib64/python2.5/site-packages/wx-2.6-gtk2-unicode/wx/_core.py", line 7755, in __init__ File "usr/lib64/python2.5/site-packages/wx-2.6-gtk2-unicode/wx/_core.py", line 7407, in _BootstrapApp File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 2197, in OnInit d = DownloadInfoFrame(doneflag, self.configfile) File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 456, in __init__ self.exception() File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 2134, in exception self.on_errorwindow(data.getvalue()) File "/usr/bin/btdownloadgui.py", line 2162, in on_errorwindow size = (500,300), style = wxTE_READONLY|wxTE_MULTILINE)) File "usr/lib64/python2.5/site-packages/wx-2.6-gtk2-unicode/wx/_core.py", line 11766, in Add TypeError: wx.Window, wx.Sizer, wx.Size, or (w,h) expected for item Reproducible: Always

I have The correct course of action after a python upgrade is to run python-updater. I'll resolve the bug for now, because I think that will fix the issue. If it doesn't fix it please re-open and attach your emerge --info as well.
I mentioned that I had run python-updater without success in my initial post. Also, I'm not the only one having this problem. wx folks, please check for Python 2.5 compatibiliy - or what else may cause this problem...
nothing to do with python version. what versions of wxGTK and wxpython?
okay i can reproduce this with GCC 4.1 only.
looks like an aliasing bug..
Fixed in all wxpython versions. Since this only appears with GCC 4.1 and affects stable versions I won't do a revision bump. Sync in an hour or so and rebuild wxpython-2.6.4.0-r1 and you should be good to go.

For testiting it would be less of an issue to do so.
doing a revision bump IS fixing it in testing. i've added -r2. this bug will stay open 30 days until wxpython-2.6.4.0-r2 is stable.
I can confirm that the updated wvpython ebuild fixed my problem. Thanks.
