Upstream released xorg-server 1.4.99.906 (1.5 RC6). The only reason this isn't 1.5 final yet is that upstream is waiting for Mesa 7.1 final. This is a minor-bugfix release, see: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2008-July/037465.html The xorg-server-1.4.99.905.ebuild currently in portage works fine without any modification. After emerging it, on my system (AMD64) it is as solid as 1.4.99.905. Didn't try it on my x86 (I have stable there; AMD64 needs 1.4.99 for proper support of R500 Radeons using the open source xf86-video-ati driver).
Please do not file 0'day requests. When the maintainer doesn't react within a week, it's early enough to do so.
Please close. 1.4.99.906 is in portage now.
Sounds good :) And for some packages the maintainers do appreciate even 0-day bump requests. But these are usually the most exotic ones that don't share a release announcement mailing list with many other packages (that the maintainer would monitor for all announcements of many packages) or none at all. xorg-server gets announced to xorg mailing list along with dozens of other packages and Donnie is following that :) Just wanted to tell it's not black and white regarding 0'day requests. Xorg, KDE, GNOME, XFCE4 and similar big packs of package maintainers get to know about it otherwise, some one-off packages perhaps not. We need metadata.xml additions for that one day, and there are discussions going on sometimes about that :) Anyhow, marking fixed, sorry for the triade
