Description uxbod 2003-06-22 16:13:26 UTC
Downloaded source file (uploaded to http://www.splatnix.net/iteraidsrc.zip for
conveniance) and attempted to compile against vanilla-source 2.4.21 and
gentoo-sources 2.4.20-r5. Compiles okay but gives the message :

iteraid.o: unresolved symbol prefetch

The original source code works again Mandrake9 and Redhat 7.3>=9.0.

I got this to start with Makefile.rh but it locks up the current session, then if I go to another session and do lsmod it says its initializing forever.
Comment 2 Tim Yamin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-07 10:31:55 UTC
I've seen that driver; it's a whole mess; using a messy SCSI backbone. I think before it works with a vanilla kernel, nobody is going to introduce it to gentoo.

Additionally, there is no definite clue on the driver license: their website asks for an NDA {all changes go to them + they have the right to refuse you to use them, et cetera} while the source code + the driver flags which the linker adds state GPL... Hmmm...

ok, with the state of the driver and the questionable access to the source code, this will not be put in gentoo-sources. I agree pretty closely with what Tim said in response #2.

*Maybe* things will change in the future... and at that time, i'll reconsider it.
