If I am using xf86-video-mga-1.4.9 I have some strange effects on my system. Green and red is exchanged, i.e. Green areas are shown red and vice versa. And if move a window the desktop is not completely refreshed. After installing xf86-video-mga-1.4.8 everything was again fine. I have G450 card and I am also using the matrox framebuffer during the booting and at the console. Please don't use matroxfb. The card-specific kernel framebuffers interact poorly with X drivers.
No news for more than a year and I've added xf86-video-mga-1.4.11 to portage. If you can still reproduce the issue _without_ matroxfb, please don't hesitate to reopen this bug. Meanwhile, I'll assume this bug has been fixed. Thanks
