It looks like it's a problem with the serial initscript, which returns a non-zero error code, causing fbsplash to switch to verbose mode: 24.75: pre svc_started serial 1 25.00: post svc_started serial 1 50.37: pre svc_started serial 1 51.58: post svc_started serial 1 You could: - remove this script from the boot and default runlevels, - upgrade to baselayout-2, - set SPLASH_VERBOSE_ON_ERRORS="no" in /etc/conf.d/splash.
Thank you! It works after removinf serial. It was confusing for me that the behaviour was different in older version.
