The development of xlhtml is discontinued;
no releases since April 2002 on http://chicago.sourceforge.net/xlhtml/.

However xlhtml source is still maintained by debian
(see http://packages.debian.org/etch/xlhtml)

Here's the debian Changelog:
http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/x/xlhtml/xlhtml_0.5.1-6/changelog

Because we had problems (endless loop with a certain xls file => huge memory consumption) with the gentoo version from portage we tested
it with debian source. The problem disappeared.

Please think about updating this software in portage.

the debian sources
