I have installed nsrp 4.7.1.
If I emerge -eD1 nss, I have installed nsrp 4.6.8 and nss-3.11.9 and then FF 2.0.0.16.

But if I want to install now FF3:

ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~x86 emerge -p mozilla-firefox

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild     U ] dev-libs/nspr-4.7.1 [4.6.8]
[ebuild     U ] gnome-base/libgnome-2.22.0 [2.14.1]
[ebuild     U ] media-libs/lcms-1.17 [1.14-r1]
[ebuild     U ] gnome-base/gconf-2.22.0 [2.14.0]
[ebuild     U ] app-text/hunspell-1.2.6 [1.1.4-r1]

[ebuild     U ] www-client/mozilla-firefox-3.0.1 [2.0.0.16]

I have same dep and nss doesn't copmile. And I can't update FF to version 3. :(

What's up with the -Bdirect in your ld flags? The patches from Michael Meeks never went into mainline and are not supported by us.

My guess is the bug is the dependency notation: >=$NSPR instead =$NSPR*

without defined LDFLAGS is the same situation, even nss-3.11.9 doesn't compile after have been installed nspr-4.7.1.

Can you please run 'emerge -avuDN world' and do all the upgrades?

You're missing gcc-4.1.2 at least, and i'd recommend disabling the overlay you're using meanwhile...
