Description Keith Harrison 2008-07-19 13:26:35 UTC
I have an Antec Fusion Black case running Gentoo Linux with MythTV. In order to get the LCD display to work i need to compile lcdproc with the patch found here: http://codeka.com/blogs/index.php/dean/2007/09/11/imon_lcd_patch_v0_3 (NOTE: link does not work with firefox 3 for some reason).

I have created a modified ebuild that works for me. I will try to upload the modified ebuild along with the corresponding patch. This is my first bug report so suggestions are appreciated. I am submitting this bug report in order to give something back to Gentoo and start getting involved. Thanks!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge lcdproc without the patch
2. None of the current LCD devices seemed applicable
3.

Actual Results:
Without the patch the LCD display did not work.

Expected Results:
With the patch and setting LCD_DEVICES="imonlcd" in make.conf it compiled just fine and works great with MythTV

I had to install lirc-0.8.3-r2 with the LIRC_DEVICES="imon_lcd".

I also had to edit the LCDd.conf file according to the directions here: http://codeka.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22

[imonlcd]
#Size=16x2
Device=/dev/lcd0
Contrast=100

If I Uncomment the "Size=" line it doesn't work for some reason.

here is my emerge --info incase it's needed:

Modified Ebuild

This is the modified ebuild I am using, I wasn't sure if it was appropriate to rename it -r2 or leave it as -r1. I set LCD_DEVICES="imonlcd". I haven't tested it with other LCD_DEVICES settings to make sure it didn't break something.

imonlcd patch for lcdproc

This is the patch applied by the ebuild. Downloaded from: http://codeka.com/blogs/index.php/dean/2007/09/11/imon_lcd_patch_v0_3. Again, I havn't tested this patch with other LCD_DEVICES but I don't expect it would break anything.
