Could you explain a little about this package?

I followed the homepage link in your ebuild and couldnt find any information.

It just allows commercial software (eg. ASIC & CAD design) that requires
a license to run under Gentoo..

and FlexLM is a dongle/hardware protection system (USB or parport, i don't know)
other known dongles are AlladinKS's HASP/Hardlock and Sentinel.

Flexlm doesn't require hardware, just a site license file.

a flexlm license CAN require hardware dongles, but not the manager itself.
chrb: you're a dev now, if you want the package in the tree, I'd be willing to co-maintain it with you.

Would it be possible to have flexlm-9.2! It is required by Matlab7, but the I did not manadge to install it by myself. Thanks a lot in advance!

Done. I've updated the ebuild and added flexlm-9.2.1 to portage.

It takes about 30 minutes to update, depending on the mirror you're using
