Hi, I've found that xorg-server-1.4.2 has an infinite loop at startup with my setup (it uses 100% CPU, gdb shows it going round and round in the same function). I reported the bug upstream:

and apparently it has been fixed, but not in time for 1.4.2.

I'm not sure how many people this will affect, as I do have an odd setup (quad head, two cards). I attached a patch in the FDO bug that solves the problem for me; it should only affect behaviour on systems which trigger this bug, so should be safe for general use.

1.5.2 should have the patches mentioned in the upstream bug.

Please don't hesitate to reopen this bug if this is not the case.
