I've successfully compiled from source ocfs2-tools-1.3.9-0.1 from the ocfs2-tools project page on ppc64 and setup a 20T OCFS2 volume using patches I created to allow OCFS2 to create volumes >16T (running vanilla-sources-2.6.26). Please see: http://oss.oracle.com/pipermail/ocfs2-devel/2008-July/002568.html http://oss.oracle.com/pipermail/ocfs2-tools-devel/2008-July/000857.html Currently running heavy benchmarks but everything seems to be working fine.
Given up on >16T since the resize didn't go as planned. Tried to resize from 20T -> 25T and ended up with a 5T volume, haha. For now just using vanilla 1.3.9-0.1 sources and everything is working normally with a 15T partition.
could you please provide an updated ebuild for the version bump? A diff to 1.2.1 ebuild would be even better. Regarding the fuctionality gentoo/ppc64 won't do anything about it. you need to talk to upstream instead.
I'm not worried about the >16T functionality and at this point stopped using ocfs2 altogether because it doesn't scale in performance the way I thought it would as I added more nodes. I didn't use an ebuild, I just compiled everything from sources and it all worked.
Version bump request is already in bug #193249 ...
well.. now that you stopped using this and noone else seems to be interested in this on ppc64 I'll mark this as WONTFIX. Once a user uses this again I might add ~ppc64.
