Description Ole Christian Tvedt 2008-07-15 01:17:10 UTC
Starting the game "Abuse" without a ~/.abuse directory works fine. The directory is created and the game runs just fine.

Starting the game with the autogenerated ~/.abuse fails with the message:
Unable to open filename art/dev.spe for requested item c_mouse1

The reason is that ~/.abuse/abuserc incorrectly lists
datadir=/var/games/abuse
instead of
datadir=/usr/share/games/abuse

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge =games-action/abuse-0.7.1
2. Make sure the directory ~/.abuse does NOT exist
3. Run the game, quit and run it again.

Actual Results:
Disabling memory manager, using libc instead
abuse 0.7.1
 Abuse (Version 2.00)
Sound : Disabled (couldn't find the sfx directory)
Specs : main file set to abuse.spe
Protocol Installed : UNIX generic TCPIP
Lisp : 529 symbols defined, 99 system functions, 321 pre-compiled functions

Comment 2 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-08-14 16:49:06 UTC
in portage. Thanks for the bug submission and patch.

People will probably need to do:

rm -rf ~/.abuse

if they installed the previous version of the ebuild.
