Description Johannes Ballé 2003-06-20 07:52:31 UTC
When emerging openoffice-1.0.3-r1, portage always selects Language "01" and
outputs the following message:

 * ****************************************************************
 * Your language is not supported by OpenOffice,
 * falling back to default value !!!
 * ****************************************************************

It does not matter whether I set LANGUAGE to "de" or "49". I even tried setting
LANGUAGE to "01" and unsetting LANGUAGE altogether, but I still got the same
message.

N.B. LANGUAGE is set to "de_DE" in my system config. Is LANGUAGE even the right
variable to use for this purpose?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
emerge openoffice

or

LANGUAGE="de" emerge openoffice

or

LANGUAGE="49" emerge openoffice

or

unset LANGUAGE
emerge openoffice

Portage 2.0.48-r1 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.2, glibc-2.3.1-r4)

Where is your other LANGUAGE variable set? What does
"LANGUAGE=49 emerge openoffice" have as result?

Duplicate of bug 44209. Surprised a bug as long standing as this has not yet been fixed.
Comment 3 Heinrich Wendel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-25 13:03:11 UTC
openoffice-1.1.3 is the current version and it works fine there
