I have created a new rsync and source mirror (vncsrv01.swiss.hp.com). It is only an HP internal one, located in Bern, Switzerland. As many employees here in Bern are using Gentoo Linux and our external bandwidth is limited it was necessary to create our own mirror. There is no connection from outside HP possible. But I would like to use the advantage of an official mirror. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Glad to hear lots of HP folks are using Gentoo Linux. Regarding our mirroring system, because our resources are limited, we need to ensure we allocate them in such a way to provide the maximum amount of benefit to our users. As such, we limit connections to our master rsync and distfile mirrors to public mirrors only. My suggestion is to pick a source mirror near you and use that to mirror from. For rsync, you can use rsync.europe.gentoo.org as an rsync mirror. Please be mindful of the rsync etiquette guidelines we posted a while back: http://www.gentoo.org/news/en/gwn/20030505-newsletter.xml#doc_chap1_sect3 Thanks! --kurt
