OptiPNG is a PNG optimization tool similar (but possibly superior) to pngcrush. Details can be seen at http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~cosmin/pngtech/optipng/ I suggest it go in media-gfx/optipng.
Created attachment 13585 [details] the proposed ebuild for optipng 0.4.1
Re-assigning to bug-wranglers since I'm retiring.
looks interesting, assigning to me...
Thanks, it does seem to do a little better than pngcrush, I've added it as media-gfx/optipng, I've had to add a couple of options as some archs/configurations require patches to zlib/libpng that are not included in the bundled patched versions, so you can now optionally use the system libraries. The First entry in the ChangeLog reads, 31 Oct 2003; Tavis Ormandy <taviso@gentoo.org> optipng-0.4.3.ebuild, files/optipng-more-makefile-options.diff: Initial import, closing bug #23157. Thanks to brian@jubue.org, who provided the ebuild this was based on in #23157.
