Enlightenment gets stuck in a loop upon a restart or theme change, unless one
clears all caches before hand.

i tried this this afternoon and didn't have a problem with the enlightment
version currently in portage.

what did you mean by cache clearning?

I meant running clear all caches through the enlightenment maintenence menu 
(middle click). I was not alone with this bug. Several people on the gentoo 
forums encountered the same problem.
