Description Dacian Reece-Stremtan 2008-07-10 01:22:38 UTC
I booted my computer using the Gentoo Live CD 2008. I clicked on the installer (gui) icon. A window popped up and I clicked next. At the partitioning disk window it correctly listed my partition table. When I clicked "show me suggested partitioning" the installer went and changed on the drive my partitions to the suggested layout, without me selecting next, or continue. While it was processing the "suggested layout" I clicked cancel, which eventually canceled the installation. The livecd broke the current linux installation on that computer.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open installer GUI from the Gentoo 2008 LiveCD
2. Select "suggested layout" for the disk partitioning.
3. Your partition table on the computer is changed.

Actual Results:
Over-writes current partition table.

Expected Results:
It should have temporary write these settings and apply them only when I choose write partition table.

The partitioning performs its actions when you request them. When you click "Recommended layout" (there's no "show me" in there), it pops up a big warning telling you that it's about to clear your disk. It's not out fault you didn't read.
