There is an mpi use flag, so it isn't forced on you.
So why did not mpich2 provide it?
And why isn't it respected by fftw-3.1.2-r1?
> So why did not mpich2 provide it? Well, it does. All you install is a virtual package, just some package manager information. > And why isn't it respected by fftw-3.1.2-r1? Looking at the ebuilds dependencies, it does not depend on an mpi implementation at all.
