When using OpenSSL version 0.9.7b I got following error: whether we can find OpenSSL: Could not find the -L/usr/local/ssl/lib -lssl -lcrypto libraries. You must first install OpenSSL. No problem with OpenSSL 0.9.6j. I think this is a result of the OpenSSL 0.9.7b ebuild.
Could you please include some more context on this? I personally know libwww works with OpenSSL 0.9.7b. After moving to 0.9.7b did you remember to run revdep-rebuild and make sure it completed sucessfully?
I run it, but I didn't know exactly if it complete successfully. Try it again.
I try it another one. And yep revdep-rebuild fails with libwww and gocr. The first packages of a least 49. Then I stop the whole process. So how could libwww works with OpenSSL 0.9.7b? gocr is hard linked wit libssl.0.9.6 and libwww shows the error above.
ive upgraded all my boxes to openssl 0.9.7b and they all have libwww on them ... it emerges ;) try doing this: `ldd /usr/lib/*so* >& lddlog ; grep 'not found' lddlog` see if you have any libs still linked to 0.9.6 also, could you please post the config.log file in /var/tmp/portage/libwww-VERSION/work/libwww-VERSION/config.log
please re-open once you've supplied the information we've requested
